HA appoints new President

The Harrow Association is delighted to announce the appointment of His Royal Highness Prince El Hassan bin Talal of Jordan as President of the Association.  He takes over from Field Marshal Lord Guthrie of Craigiebank, GCB, LVO, OBE, DL. The Association wishes to thank Lord Guthrie for his excellent service.  Prince Hassan is an Old Harrovian and was in The Park between 19603 and 19643.  He is a direct descendant of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and is the brother of His late Majesty King Hussein and the uncle of HM King Abdullah II of Jordan, serving as Jordan’s Crown Prince from 1965 until 1999. ...more



Harrow Wanderers CC

With the Club's 150th Anniversary in 2020 now fast approaching, the Harrow Wanderers CC is enjoying fresh momentum and greater commitment from it playing members. Speech Day and the Goose Match continue to be prestigious occasions, and the Northern Tour continues to flourish. The Field House Club provides an impressive venue for post-match hospitality and an incentive to increasing the number of home fixtures. The Old Harrovian Association Football Club 1st XI is returning to Division 1 after a difficult season in the Premier Division. The 2nd XI has won promotion to Division 2 and can expect to encounter tougher opponents next season. The 3rd XI continues to enjoy positive momentum with ever increasing player resources. The over 35's reached the final of the league Veterans Cup for the second successive season but lost in extra time to Old Foresters. The Biennial Dinner at The Hurlingham Club was attended by 150 members and guests and a 15-strong tour squad thrilled spectators in Madrid over Easter. Up to date Club news is available at

New Books from Old Harrovian authors

Henry Virgin (Elmfield 1986/3) has completed his first novel 'Exit Rostov' set in Southern Russia where he was a teacher in the late 90's. He is currently seeking an agent and a publisher. Before his novel, he completed two collections of poetry. The Glass Aubergine and Anthelion, as well as a chinese travel journal, Teaching in Tangxia. You can find out more at his website here.

Rupert Wieloch (Rendalls 19723) 'Belfast to Benghazi, Untold Challenges of War' by Rupert Wieloch is a book about his Military career from his time in Northern Ireland as a platoon Comander to leading a squadron during the Gulf War in 1990. He later served as the Senior British Military Commander in Libya following the fall of Gaddafi.

Richard Ritchie (Newlands 19632) 'The Old Stagers' is a marvellous book for anyone interested in the history of amateur dramatics.
